Basile Bellefleur - Heavy snow will fall for a day and a night. Everything will then be covered in snow, and it will be thick on the ground and on the ice. This snow comes from the North-East and won't melt until spring. Sometimes there are two of these snowfalls in a winter. Permanent snow falls during February storms. Once it has fallen, rain will follow. It's a kind of blanket for the snow. Then comes another layer of snow, sometimes a layer of ice, and a final layer of snow. That's why the snow lingers for a long time in the spring.
