Fabien Paul - Well, it was a small project. We had a volleyball tournament in '90. We wanted the same disciplines as in the National Games: track, jumps, races. Afterwards, we wanted to add sports such as volleyball, basketball, soft ball. And also badminton and ping-pong. But we also thought about bring the youth closer to their culture. We wanted to bring them back to their culture. So there was always a cultural aspect. But, in order to do that, we needed to find a cultural site for each discipline.
Alain Nepton - You can't live in the past. You must be inspired by what they did, then turn towards the future. Whether we like it or not, life in the bush is slowly changing, but we must keep our respect for the animals, we must keep from abusing things. We must keep what we have and transpose it into the modern world. Because sometimes, we live in the context of globalization, the context of communication. That's our challenge, maintaining our identity as we function in society.
Music - Philippe Mckenzie
